I am very satisfied with my purchase of this Welder k35! At the sale price of just under $500 shipped, this is most certainly a 5 star product! (at the $1200 list price I may be a bit more particular. For that price, I’d rather have a k28 automatic) Welder watches are hand built in Italy, by the maker of U-boat. As someone who majored in Industrial Design in college, I have a very picky eye for design, both the appearance and function of an item. It doesn’t take much to turn me off of an item, and every time I use it, I tend only to see the flaws. Thankfully this watch is flawless (visually and functionally). It has the look of two watches, fused at the 12 o’clock hour. All Welder watches are characterized by having several layers on the watch face, giving them a great look of depth. The Right side of the watch face is real hand laid, ultra high gloss 2×2 Carbon Fiber twill weave, with matte numbers and hour marks sitting on top offering great contrast. The look of the gloss surface under the mineral glass, another gloss surface, is a truly unique effect. You can tell they go to great lengths to make sure each case is air tight and flawless because with a surface like that, any smudge, or singular piece of dust will stand out like a sore thumb. The left side of the face has four layers, Three layer of matte black and either blue red or yellow depending on your choice, with negative cut outs of the numbers and hour marks so you can see the Carbon Fiber from the right side underneath. When light catches the face, it creates a very unique look from how the materials either reflect or absorb it.
