Looks great fully maxed out (I played ultra at 1600p - gorgeous). Fluid movement, good AI (extremely good at higher difficulty), good pacing, and HUGE OPEN WORLDS.
Definitely pick it up on sale if you like this genre. You will enjoy the experience and it has some truly unique features. Polishes up Sniper Elite 2 and it just nails what they are trying to do. Story is meh, but what did you expect? It's still 10x better than the drivel from Call of Duty or Battlefield, and much longer too.
Sniper Elite 3 is an "OK" game. I would say that it is better than its predecessor. Graphics are good but not mind blowing. The gameplay can be fun, sniping someone really far away can be pretty satisfying, however i will not deny that there are some issues with it. Sniper Elite 3 can become repetitive, some people might even find it to be tedious and boring. There are game-breaking bugs-glitches that can be pretty annoying. Sound design isn't very good either. For a game that requires stealth it's surprising that the game designers didn't invest more time polishing the sound mechanics. For example, you can hear enemies but are unable to pinpoint their location as the sound is essentially unidirectional and this is terrible for immersion. This is an "OK" game that has issues that "could" get fixed with future updates. The repetitiveness however, that is something that they can't fix. I would advise people to get this game only if they enjoyed Sniper Elite V2. If you didn't like Sniper Elite V2, then chances are you won't like Sniper Elite 3 either.
This is a tour-de-force in stealth gaming! Sniper Elite 3 comes with all the power and polish of the latest Call Of Duty classics. Make no mistake about it, Sniper Elite 3 is a true soldier in the stealth war, with AI so smart these suckers act like true human beings! You will feel like you’re infiltrating those evil nazi camps, taking these scum out in true heroic American fashion. This game is so smart you can silence your weapons by using the realistic environments to delivery shots in true gory fashion! That’s because Sniper Elite 3 uses slow-motion death-cam, an original concept of todays ultra-realistic games to capture the moment the bullet hits the head. You can even do a double-balls shot! If you like stealth you’d be as stupid as the outdated Doom AI to miss Sniper Elite 3!
If you liked Sniper Elite V2 than you will like this game as well. This is not a game that you can go through and just start shooting without thinking tactically. If you do you will die extremely fast. This is the kind of game that you have to think about when it’s best to avoid the enemy or where you need to make a shot from and how you’re going to conceal your shot. I love the fact that you have to have to pay attention to how far you’re shooting and the wind direction and strength. It’s not just a point and shoot game. I have not completed the game yet but each level has been taking me around 2 or 3 hours each to complete on Sniper Elite level and that’s basically medium difficulty. That’s a big relief for me since most games take maybe 6 or 7 hours of game play to finish the entire game.
Man I love this game. I have never played any of the Sniper Elite's and I wasn't expecting to like a sniper game, but I love this. I'm not a big fan of games that focus on stealth but for some reason it is fun in SE3. And of course the awesome kill cam is so gratifying when you kill those Nazis. This is the funnest game I have played in a long time. I haven't even got into the multi-player yet which is usually all I do, but I have been loving the main story. On a side note, this game is included with the Amd game offer they give with new video cards. So if you are considering upgrading your gpu, this should be the extra motivation you need, just make sure it comes with the free games from Amd.
